Austin saw this Cottonmouth curled up in a tree.  It was so funny, because all the kids took off to get their guns that were on the 4 wheelers.  Tony beat them to the draw & decapitated the snake.

Mississippi part 3

There are 5 natural springs on Tony's family's land. Tony wanted to find all 5.  The kids enjoyed digging in the mud & wading through it.

This was Faith & Collin's first time meeting Austin. (We all enjoyed getting to know him better.) Faith thought that Austin was the greatest because he let her "drive" the 4 wheeler.

After several days, Tony did find all 5 springs & was able to clean up around them.

Mississippi Part 2

We had so much fun, so many pictures & wonderful memories, that it is going to take a few posts to share about our trip.

 

French Camp, MS has a Harvest Festival every year.

They sold crafts, jams, the best bread, etc.

I've been reading about the Amish & was so excited to see this buggy.

My husband is originally from Mississippi.  Most of his family is still there.  Will was just toddling around when we went the last time. Collin & Faith have never been.  They were so excited about going.

This precious dog started hanging around the house.  The kids fell in love with him.  

We decided to take him home.  The kids named him Mississippi Mystery (b/c we didn't know what type of dog he was).   

When we got home, we sent out his picture to some friends to see if they knew what he was.  The mystery was solved.  He is a Plott Hound.

Hanging With Friends

We went on a field trip to the Star Lab at our state museum.  We didn't get to take pictures.  The kids enjoyed it, but what they enjoyed most was spending time with their friends.  We went to a park afterwards.  This little contraption was a big hit.
